Total Facial Rejuvenation
Women and men who want to look their best at any age choose Dr. Jeffrey Kenkel, a Dallas and Frisco, Texas, facial rejuvenation specialist and board-certified plastic surgeon. While a facelift focuses on the lower 2/3 of the face, a combination of procedures—both surgical and nonsurgical—is often needed for a naturally refreshed look. Dr. Kenkel calls this concept “total facial rejuvenation,” and he personalizes each treatment plan to the unique needs and cosmetic goals of his patients from McKinney, Prosper, Allen, and other nearby cities.
Why Combine?
Traditional facelift surgery improves the lower two-thirds of the face, where people often see the earliest and most stubborn signs of aging. Loose skin, displaced fat, and a “turkey wattle” can all contribute to a dissatisfying aged appearance, and there’s no doubt that a facelift on its own can be transformative, leaving behind lasting definition and tone. Even a standalone neck lift can produce dramatic results.
But facial aging isn’t always a predictable process. Genetics and lifestyle factors also play a role in determining when and how the face ages — from crow’s feet inherited from your father to lip lines remaining from an old smoking habit.
By adding other treatment options, you can pinpoint ways to improve your specific aging concerns in tandem with a facelift. For some patients, isolated areas of improvement may result in disharmony rather than the desired effect. In most cases, undergoing more than one procedure in a single surgery does not significantly affect your recovery process.
Dr. Kenkel is very kind and caring. He listened to my concerns about my skin and what could be done to make it look younger and more even toned.

Injectables
Both BOTOX® Cosmetic and dermal fillers can be administered during or even after surgery to add focused improvement to very specific lines and wrinkles. These treatments can be the “finishing touches,” addressing small lines or areas of lost volume that surgery alone may not.
Laser Resurfacing
Whereas a surgical facelift improves the position and tone of the skin, muscles, and other supportive structures, laser skin resurfacing can actually improve the quality of the skin, reducing some signs of sun damage, uneven pigment, and textural irregularities.
Fat Transfer
Autologous fat transfer, sometimes called fat grafting, uses unwanted fat from one area of your body (removed via liposuction) to augment, fill, or soften another area of your body. In this context, fat transfer can add soft, youthful volume to the cheeks and/or the nasolabial folds.
Brow Lift
A heavy or low-set brow can add visual “weight” to the entire face, making patients look prematurely aged or even angry or tired. A surgical brow lift repositions it to a higher placement on the face for a more alert and open appearance.
Blepharoplasty
Also called eyelid surgery, blepharoplasty can be performed on the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both — through incisions that are relatively inconspicuous and follow the eyelids’ natural creases. This procedure smooths away wrinkles in the eyelids, lifts sagging or drooping eyelid skin, and can also remove fat deposits or “bags” under the eyes.
Lip Lift
An elongated upper lip can cause your mouth to look older than the rest of your face. A lip lift can help improve the appearance of the lips and mouth area, adding definition and fullness to the upper lip to improve your appearance.

Total Facial Rejuvenation FAQ
What’s the best facial procedure for aging skin?
It depends. The “best” procedure is the one that gives you the improvements you want with minimum downtime. Since individual concerns vary, treatment plans vary as well but often include one or more of the following options:
- Injectables such as BOTOX® Cosmetic and dermal fillers
- Laser skin resurfacing
- Chemical peels
Does nonsurgical facial rejuvenation work?
Facial rejuvenation treatments without surgery are effective for people with early to moderate signs of aging. Advanced wrinkles and skin laxity require surgery to correct effectively.
How do I know if I need surgical rejuvenation or if less invasive options would be best?
Dr. Kenkel approaches facial rejuvenation with the least invasive procedures possible. During your consultation, he will explain the pros and cons of appropriate surgical and nonsurgical options and help you choose the ones best suited for your needs, cosmetic goals, and available downtime.
Is it really okay to combine surgical and nonsurgical cosmetic procedures?
Combining nonsurgical procedures with facial cosmetic surgery is safe—and often recommended. Dr. Kenkel’s in-depth understanding of the interplay between facial features and the overlying skin allows him to create treatment plans that help patients look younger and natural. Learn more in this blog post.
How long do the results of face rejuvenation last?
Surgery provides more noticeable results than nonsurgical procedures that last years instead of months. There are ways to extend the life of facial rejuvenation results, including avoiding significant weight changes, using sunscreen consistently, drinking plenty of water, and getting consistent sleep.
