Hyaluronic Acid Fillers
Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a substance that occurs naturally in the skin and other tissues of the human body. It helps to keep these areas strong, resilient, and supported. However, with age, the production of hyaluronic acid slows down, which contributes to sagging and wrinkles. Because it occurs naturally, hyaluronic acid is a wonderful, well-tolerated ingredient for injectable fillers. Dr. Kenkel offers the following HA-based products:
- JUVÉDERM® family of products
- Restylane® family of products
- Revance® family of products

Credentials You Can Trust
What conditions can dermal fillers improve?
Although popular HA fillers share an active ingredient, there are differences between them that may make them better suited to certain patients and certain treatment areas. During your consultation, Dr. Kenkel carefully examines your areas of concern, and we collaborate to determine the options that best align with your needs and aesthetic goals.
Some of the key concerns that fillers address include:
Wrinkles, lines, and creases
Fillers help fill static wrinkles that form during the aging process, including nasolabial folds (smile lines), forehead and frown lines (the 11s). They also smooth marionette lines, which are creases in your skin that extend from the sides of your mouth to your chin.
Under-eye hollows (tear troughs)
We use fillers to rejuvenate the under-eye area by smoothing eye bags, hollows, and dark circles so that you appear more rested, youthful, and alert.
Scars
Fillers diminish the appearance of stubborn acne scars or depressed scars that may make you feel self-conscious about your skin’s appearance.
Jawline contours
We artfully shape and sculpt the lower portion of your face using fillers to lift the jowls and augment your chin and jawline to further define your profile.
Cheek contours
Similar to jawline contouring, dermal fillers can sculpt the cheek area by plumping hollow or sunken cheeks and defining the cheekbones.
Thin or lined lips
We help you achieve your perfect pout by using fillers to shape and plump thin lips. Lip augmentation with fillers can also smooth lines on or around the mouth.
You can “mix and match” dermal fillers with each other or other injectables, such as BOTOX® Cosmetic or DYSPORT® to find the combination that suits you best.
How much do dermal fillers cost in Dallas & Frisco?
Because of the varied needs of each patient, it’s difficult to offer a quote for injectables over the Internet. The cost of your procedure is dependent on how many areas you wish to treat, as well as which products you choose. We offer you a written quote during your consultation.
What should I avoid before treatment?
For optimal results and to minimize swelling and bruising, take the following precautions before your filler injections.
At least 3 days before:
- Stop the use of retinol and glycolic acid skin products.
- Hold off on waxing, tweezing, or using hair removal products on targeted areas.
At least 24 hours before:
- Avoid caffeine.
- Do not drink alcoholic beverages.
- Do not take over-the-counter medications or supplements that thin the blood or are anti-inflammatory (e.g., aspirin, ibuprofen, omega-3s, vitamin C, St. John’s wort).
How is a dermal filler treatment performed?
Dr. Kenkel performs dermal filler injections using a fine needle and/or a cannula. He injects the dermal filler into the face or neck to treat your areas of concern to help enhance your appearance subtly. Treatment is typically quite comfortable and brief, with most patients in and out of the office in less than an hour. Your results will be natural looking and long lasting. Following your treatment, you may return to your regular activities immediately, and with fillers, your results are instantly visible. Dr. Kenkel advises you on what you can expect.
What should I avoid following treatment?
For optimal results and to minimize swelling and bruising, take the following precautions for at least 24 hours after filler injections:
- Avoid rubbing or putting pressure on treated areas.
- Hold off on intense cardio or other activities that will make you sweat.
- Stay out of the sun and other sources of excessive heat.
- Avoid sleeping positions that put pressure on treated areas.
- Avoid excessive salt intake.
- Do not drink alcohol.
Ensure injection sites are fully healed before gently applying topical creams, serums, or makeup to the treated areas.
How long do dermal fillers last?
Although results are temporary, dermal fillers can last for several months and even more than a year, depending on the filler and area treated.
